Equality and Diversity

Futures is committed to supporting, developing and promoting equality, diversity and British Values in everything we do.We aim to establish an inclusive culture free from discrimination and based on the values of fairness, dignity and respect as defined in the Equality Act 2010 and 2012 and Public Sector Equality Duty April 2011.

As far as possible, we aim to ensure that our workforce reflects the communities we serve in terms of religion, background, age and language.

Our priority and main aim in delivering equality and diversity is to ensure that every individual who works with or for the company, is able to do so in a comfortable, supportive, fair and inclusive environment.

We will do everything possible to ensure that all our customers (i.e. young people, adults, learners, schools and employers), subcontractors and stakeholders have fair, equal and inclusive access to our services irrespective of age, disability, gender re-assignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, unrelated criminal convictions or any other individual characteristic that may limit a person’s opportunity in life.

Futures Diversity Calendar is used by our people to enhance awareness and understanding of cultural and religious differences and traditions and we take into account key dates when organising training or other events.By understanding and embracing difference, we can help to create an environment based on the principles of dignity, fairness, equality and respect.

Futures aims to work with stakeholders, employees and customers to identify any further actions which lead to increased inclusivity in all areas of the company.

Behaviour and actions which go against our commitment to equality and diversity must be reported as soon as possible and will result in swift, fair and appropriate action, which may include termination of employment.
