Charlotte moves onto Further Education with help from Futures

Futures coaches supported Charlotte move into further education, when she felt overwhelmed by the process.

For a few years, Charlotte was overwhelmed by the thought of moving on to college and found attending college events and applying for courses challenging.

Social Services instructed Charlotte to contact a NEET (not in education, employment or training) team, and that’s when she met Audrey at Futures.

To begin with, Charlotte was anxious about speaking, but Audrey worked with her to break her goals into manageable steps, identify her weaker points and create a plan to improve upon them. Charlotte says:

“I felt very scared of speaking at the beginning, however I was able to get my points across for them to help me without feeling my anxiety taking over; the coach was assuring, respectful, didn't judge at all, and listened. The well laid out plans and chart they gave me, really put the process into perspective.”

Charlotte has successfully applied for a place at Confetti Institute of Creative Arts and started a course in Games Art in September. She feels that coaching from Futures has guided her in the right direction, and helped her to realise how much hard work she has put into the application process.

“Audrey is proud of me, welcoming and cheerful! She has made the coaching sessions very enjoyable. She says she's confident that I'll do amazingly in the future.
