Celebrating 28 years of Futures!

3rd April, 2023 Read time: Two minutes

It’s our Birthday month, but rather than popping the prosecco and blowing out candles, we’re focusing on how we’ve been making a difference for nearly 30 years.

Now, we could give you 28 reasons why Futures is so great, but you’d be here a while and we value your time, so here are our top five reasons we think you just have to know about

Our #FuturesFamily Values

We wouldn’t be where we are today without our incredible staff, so we take of them, to ensure they get the most out of their career with Futures. Over the past 28 years, we have implemented several activities and policies that develop a working environment where our staff can continue to learn, flourish and most importantly love their jobs. Our CPD Power Hour gives staff one hour per week to learn something new or develop a skill. The introduction of the volunteering programme is an opportunity for our teams to give back to the local community and charitable organisations during working hours.

And the winner is...

It’s our birthday and there’s no better day to show off our achievement. Over the past 28 years, we’ve made quite the name for ourselves, in 2022 alone, we won the ‘Transforming Lives’ award, one of our incredible staff members won the ‘Best newcomer’ award at the Young People’s Awards and we were finalists for the East Midlands Chamber Awards in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire in the Education and Business partnership category. We’re proud of where we’ve come from and excited about where we are going.

Helping individuals and businesses for 28 years

We believe success is for everyone, through creating a happy, motivated and skilled workforce and individuals feeling they are able to contribute to society through the work they do. We’ve helped thousands of people and businesses, so it may take a while to get a total number, so we gathered the stats from last year just to give you an idea. In 2022, we helped 36,000 individuals, 400 businesses and secured over £14 million in funding across 7 new contracts, so we can offer more support and guidance to those who need it most.

An outstanding performance

It’s no secret Futures is an Ofsted-rated Outstanding provider – we know, we mention it a lot! We’ve worked hard to achieve the highest stamp of approval. We wouldn’t have been able to secure such an incredible rating without our dedicated staff who are absolutely committed to offering the highest quality services to everyone who walks through our doors.

We’re on the map

Helping people is our thing, that’s why we are easily accessible. You can find Futures in a range of locations, Job Centres, schools, communities, pop-ups, job fairs, and of course in our centres. As a birthday present from us to us, today marks the official opening of our new Mansfield centre! Gaining the right support can be difficult, so we do our best to remove as many barriers as possible, so each person has the opportunity to discover their potential.

We just have one more thing to say, and that’s Thank you!

Without all of our amazing staff, partners, councils, employers, Job Centers, we wouldn’t be where we are today celebrating an incredible 28 years. So Thank You for all the hard work you do!
