Futures join Mansfield MP Ben Bradley on School Visit
Mansfield MP Ben Bradley visited The Samworth Church Academy with Futures and the Careers and Enterprise Company.
The purpose of the visit was for Ben to learn more about how a network that connects schools and colleges with employers and careers programme providers to provide young people with high-quality experience in the world of work, is expanding into Mansfield schools.
This network, known as the Enterprise Adviser Network, is run by The Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC) in partnership with Futures and D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership. This partnership plans to accelerate the progress on careers guidance in school, and Ben, as local MP, may play a key part in supporting The Samworth Church Academy and other schools in Mansfield with this endeavour.
Dan Heffernan, Enterprise Coordinator hosted by Futures, said:
“The world of work is changing fast. We need to build a skilled and informed future pipeline and ensure that our young people are ready to cope with the pace of technological change. Ben understands the importance of this change, and was therefore eager to understand more about how our network is supporting schools within his constituency. Through our Enterprise Adviser Network, volunteers from business will work directly with school and college leaders to bridge the gap between the worlds of work and employment, bringing business and education closer together.”
