What are we looking for?

Futures are recruiting for a Head of Business Development to work as part of the Senior Leadership Team. Reporting to the CEO, the role will focus upon enhancing and strengthening Futures’ market position by securing profitable income streams, spotting opportunities to grow and further develop the Group’s service offering by fulfilling and anticipating customer, stakeholder and commissioners’ needs.

This role will lead on the identification and development of long-term strategic areas of business continuity and growth for the Group, ensuring the Group has visibility of all key referral and commissioning routes and is equipped to maximise any opportunities arising.

We are looking for someone who is a dynamic and driven individual with proven experience and a successful track record in seeking out and securing new bid and partnerships opportunities of scale within the employment, skills and advice sectors.

Our Business Development team is growing and this role will be instrumental in realising our exciting growth plans, working closely also with our employer-focused commercial sales team.

The successful candidate will be a competent senior manager possessing a range of management and leadership skills, along with well-developed approaches to leading negotiations and developing collaborative stakeholder partnerships.

Job Specification Requirements
The successful candidate will:

  • be educated to degree level (or equivalent professional qualification).
  • have recent experience of working in a similar role with previous experience of producing successful Business Development strategies.
  • be able to demonstrate extensive experience in both bid management, writing and coordination and sourcing new, bespoke opportunities to a successful outcome.
  • have a good understanding of a variety of methodologies and tools to support funding and business growth across the main sectors in which the Group operates.
  • be able to provide evidence for successful leadership of teams through to achievement of targets.
  • have well developed influencing, negotiating, interpersonal and advocacy skills.
  • have the ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines.
