Employability and Skills Coach - Unlocking Potential (FTC until Jun’22)

What are we looking for?
Futures are recruiting for an Unlocking Potential Employability and Skills Coaches who will engage with young people aged 15 to 24 years, who are in EET and at risk of NEET(not in education, training or employment), and offer support to take up training, traineeships, apprenticeships, and improve movements into work. This is a fixed term contract until 30th June 2022 with an extension review.
The service will focus on young people at risk of social exclusion and from marginalised communities and help them prepare for and engage with employment or further education. You will be focusing on supporting young people who are either currently in Alternative Provision or who have had previous experience of attending alternative provision and or young people who are either currently Looked After or who have had previous experience of being a looked after children.
This role will serve Nottinghamshire County including Bassetlaw and parts of Mansfield and Newark and Sherwood. Through IAG, coaching and support, you will raise their aspirations, self-confidence, remove barriers and help young people make positive choices about future options.
You will be creative and active in developing relationships, sustaining contact, tracking and persevering with young people who are at risk of NEET. You will use a variety of coaching tools and styles to support young people to develop and enable them to increase their chances of entering and/or sustaining EET.

Job Specification Requirements
The successful candidate will:
- Have a minimum of a Level 3 Careers Guidance qualification
- Ability to use computers effectively (word processing, databases, email and internet)
- Ability to demonstrate substantial experience of effectively working and engaging with young people 15-24 from one of the above cohorts
- Knowledge and understanding of the barriers and issues affecting unemployed young people with SEND and additional needs, particularly those facing multiple barriers
- Excellent interpersonal skills (particularly effective communication, flexibility, adaptability and initiative skills)
- Knowledge of how to effectively apply for jobs or training – how to write a good CV and supporting job statement
- Ability to manage time and work in a target driven environment whilst maintaining quality standards
- Effective administrative, organisational and planning skills
- Willingness and ability to travel across the county on a daily basis
