What are we looking for?
Futures are recruiting for a Careers Advisers to work as a part of the Nottingham team to provide careers information, advice and guidance (IAG) to our customers in a variety of organisations and locations throughout Nottingham city.
The successful candidate will have a passion for making a difference to people’s lives and promoting social mobility; supporting customers to remove barriers to employment and training, to access opportunities to progress in the world of work, and to manage their careers. It’s essential for the candidate to have a ‘can-do’, proactive and flexible style of working.
Through seeking out local labour market information, this role will provide customers with local awareness of opportunities and trends. The successful candidate will promote the service with local partners and organisations, to build the referrals coming through our service. Flexibility, creativity and the desire to succeed in a target driven environment are key to success in this role.

Job Specification Requirements
The successful candidate will:
- Have a minimum of a level 3 in IAG
- Ability to use computers effectively (Word processing, PowerPoint, MS Teams, use of CRMs/ databases, email and internet)
- Experience of delivering progressive careers and employability advice and guidance
- Excellent interpersonal skills (particularly effective communication, flexibility, adaptability and initiative skills)
- Have knowledge of every aspect of finding employment – job seeking, CV writing, applications and interview skills – and be able to advise our customers on these topics
- Understand local and national training opportunities and be able to promote these to customers
- Be able to manage time and work in a target driven environment whilst maintaining quality standards
- Have effective administrative, organisational and planning skills
- Be a positive, approachable team player with a can do attitude
